Do you struggle to write good blog posts or simply want to improve the quality of your content? We put this handy little infographic together to serve as a checklist of sorts; a reminder of the key ingredients and nutrition values that make for a great blog post!
A great blog post should be:
- Engaging - Is it about an interesting, unique or under-served topic? Did you include a call-to-action?
- Relevant - Does it relate to your brand or business? Is the topic appropriate?
- Timely - Does it address a news story, hot topic or seasonal subject? Are you timing it well?
- Useful - How valuable is the information to your target audience?
- Concise - Is the blog post too long? Should it be narrowed down or broken up into smaller parts?
- Organized - Is the information easily digestible? Are you using bullet points, subheadings and small paragraphs for good formatting and readability?
- Share-worthy - Does it have an attention-grabbing title, memorable quotes, lots of links, helpful information and visual appeal?
- Searchable - Have you incorporated SEO? Are you using the best keywords?
- Linkable - Are you making it easy for people to share and link to your blog posts? Are you using any bookmarklets?
- Original - Does this content already exist in some form (and if so, how can you make yours better)? Are you giving credit where it’s due?
