When it comes to online video, everyone is familiar with YouTube (unless they’ve been living under a rock these past few years). But YouTube often isn’t the best place to go if you’re looking for videos related to a niche topic or industry; sometimes YouTube doesn’t even have a relevant category! According to ComScore, by the end of 2009, online video consumption grew 124% to 33.2 billion views—that’s A LOT of online tube time! As online video becomes increasingly popular, the number of niche online video sharing sites seems to be increasing too. Here’s a look at 20+ niche video sites, organized by topic:

You may want to add http://www.lynda.com/ to the “DIY & How-To” list. Then again, you may not… Your choice as to if it fits your description or not.

Thanks for the suggestion, Karl. That looks like a useful site/service. However, it doesn’t appear that just anyone is able to submit their videos to Lynda-it requires being a pre-qualified “trainer.” I think for the time being we’re going to limit our list to free & open services.
Hey thats a very good list of video sharing sites well organised
I’d like to mention a niche video sharing site - it’s called, ‘How’s My Acting’. Fairly new site - it’s video sharing for aspiring actors and pro actors.
