Havre de Grace, MD, June 4, 2012 – Web Ad.vantage, a digital marketing and online advertising agency, today announced their entry into The Business Journals’ Social Madness Contest (https://www.webadvantage.net/socialmadness). Social Madness is a one-of-a-kind corporate media challenge that measures the growth of a company’s social presence. Companies are ranked based on a scoring algorithm that measures their social influence as gauged by votes on bizjournals.com, LinkedIn Connections, Facebook activity and Twitter Followers during the challenge. As a boutique agency that focuses on up-and-coming companies, Web Ad.vantage enters Social Madness as the “underdogs” taking on heavy-hitting competitors with more budget and brand recognition. Although there is no prize in this contest other than recognition as the winner, Web Ad.vantage embraces the challenge, promoting a social media-based contest with a philanthropic twist: if Web Ad.vantage wins, one of its supporters will win an Apple iPad and in turn Web Ad.vantage will donate up to $6,000 ($500 per week for each week Web Ad.vantage wins its Social Madness bracket) to another underdog and deserving cause: One Laptop One Child.
The initial phase of the Social Madness competition runs from June 1st through June 15th, 2012. At the completion of the initial phase, the eight companies with the most points move on to compete head-to-head in the Local Bracket Phase. Winners of the Local Bracket Phase move onto compete against major brands in the National Bracket Phase which is to take place from July 24th through September 19th, 2012. Web Ad.vantage will be initially competing in the Baltimore bracket.
