For anyone participating in Yahoo Search Marketing paid search (PPC) program, the “Panama” upgrade to Yahoo’s new system is imminently approaching. Yahoo has already addressed many of the top questions, like…
- When will the upgrade take place? (any day now since they say “beginning of Q4 2006″).
- Will all advertisers be upgraded at the same time? (”No advertisers will be upgraded in waves over the course of several months. You will receive your individual upgrade date via email, as well as U.S. mail, at least two weeks in advance.”)
- How long will the upgrade take? (”The upgrade process can take up to eight hours.”)
- Is there anything I should do to prepare for the upgrade? (”When your account is moved over to the new system, your current categories will become campaigns. Therefore, the main thing you can do to best prepare your account for the upgrade is to review your categories to be sure you?re happy with the way you?ve organized your listings.”)
- And plenty more.
Yahoo’s posted an entire Upgrade Tips and Checklist section where you can learn more about the Panama upgrade.
