Rumor has it that Yahoo is about to break into the Blog market and perhaps dominate, taking advantage of Google’s Blogger being overrun with blogs without a sound customer service program or feeling of community.
Besides its search and entertainment dominance, Yahoo has forged itself as the top Internet community with its free membership email platform, Yahoo Groups, Geocities Free Web Pages, Message Boards, Finance Solutions and Yahoo News.
Yahoo Korea has launched a Blogging Community which seems to be really catching on. Here is a link to Yahoo Korea’s Blog Page: http://kr.blog.yahoo.com
Why Does Yahoo Blow?
Here’s something fun about Yahoo Blogs. If you use AltaVista’s Babelfish (a Yahoo company- acquired in the Overture Acquisition) for the Korean to English the translated title of the page is:
“Yahoo Blows”
Many on the web have expressed this same opinion, perhaps even Google or Microsoft! Will Yahoo Blog or blow? We may never know!
Here’s the link to the site translation via Babelfish
Will Yahoo expand into the American blog friendly marketplace? This is yet to be announced. However, blog.yahoo.com and blogs.yahoo.com are active URLs but redirect to the Yahoo Groups site.
