While attending the Summer 2006 Search Engine Strategies Conference in San Jose, I learned of an interesting new portal built to deliver yellow page directory information in multiple languages. Still in beta, Tyloon delivers English language U.S. national yellow page results in Spanish and Chinese. No translation tool is required; Tyloon allows users to toogle between languages by merely clicking the language link of their choice…wherever the user may be in their search process.Tyloon, a self funded company with support from the U.S. Commerce Department, assists in getting small and minority-owned businesses up online by providing them with soup-to-nuts web development and hosting services. For very nominal fees, Tyloon can create a web page, host the site and include the site in its directory. Tyloon proudly boasted of a small, two-person cleaning service that got clients off the Web as a result of being listed in Tyloon.

In the near future, Tyloon intends to add more languages (German and French) and business listings for more countries (Canada and Mexico).
