Microsoft has announced a $100 million investment in its MSN portal worldwide. $30 million will be diverted into Europe, the Middle East and Africa, the company has announced.
The investment seems to be focused on beefing up portal advertising. Microsoft has also recently made news with their commitment on developing their own search engine and Newsbot, their answer to Google News.
According to reports, Microsoft has many experimental advertising formats on the horizon, including full-page interstitial ads that that appear while a Web page is being downloaded or scratch-offs, that reveal themselves when brushed by the mouse pointer.
