Got some free time? This week’s tip can lead you to some very rewarding results.
As you probably already know, getting your site linked to other sites across the Web can be a boon for generating traffic. Not only are you reaching exponentially larger audiences every time you link up to another site, but this form of web marketing costs you virtually nothing except your time. Plus, some search engines are now also using “popularity technology” - examining data to figure out what information people are searching for and clicking on — to help steer their query results. The more sites you’re linked to, the more likely you are to be found and clicked on, the more you are helping your search engine ranking. For more information on this form of searching, visit Direct Hit.
Now, finding web sites to link to cannot always be easy, so today we’re going to give you two web sites that will make this job a snap. Check out Jim Wilson’s Virtual Promote Top 500 (now Top 700). Jim is the creator of the incredibly useful Virtual Promote web site, and he has compiled this list of directories and web sites that accept links.
Then you’ve got the self-proclaimed “Grandfather of All Links,” with over 6,500 (!) places at which to link up!
Like I said, all you need is time….
