Senior Account Manager
Job Description
The Web Ad.vantage Senior Account Manager will be responsible for the overall management and contributing to the success of client search marketing campaigns, comprised of Pay Per Click (PPC), organic search engine optimization (SEO) and social media optimization (SMO) as well as online advertising campaigns. The Senior Account Manager will oversee and/or be directly involved in client search strategy, execution and performance analysis for both search and online advertising campaigns. The Senior Account Manager is a management position that entails supervising and/or training other Web Ad.vantage staff members and/or new hires; serving as the liaison between clients, PPC/SEO/SMO staff, and search engine agency representatives; and handling the day-to-day execution and management of PPC campaigns, SEO/SMO initiatives and online advertising campaigns. In an execution capacity, the Senior Account Manager must “own” each of the projects in which s/he is involved. Web Ad.vantage is a boutique agency located in Havre de Grace, MD. Duties & Responsibilities
The Senior Account Manager’s duties & responsibilities will include:
- Active participation in the client kick-off meeting process, learn and understand client’s needs and goals pertaining to paid search, particularly measurable objectives, to be able to conduct keyword research and budget forecasting to provide keyword recommendations and subsequent PPC campaign management to help achieve client goals.
- Serve as strategic counsel to clients for PPC, SEO, SMO and online advertising projects
- Develop long-term plans and program recommendations for clients
- Organize planning and status meeting on a regular basis to keep projects on track
- Set deadlines for tasks and see that they are achieved
- Review, edit and give final approval to client deliverables before they are sent to client
- Identify/Recognize/Solicit new business/growth opportunities within existing clients
- Generate proposals and service agreements for new client work
- Ensure project time sheets are kept up-to-date
- Analyze completed projects for profitability
- Manage monthly client invoicing requests and media reconciliations
- Review weekly receivables status and follow-up with past due invoices to clients
- Review/edit suggested PPC advertising copy
- Monitor PPC campaigns through third party campaign management software
- Manage maintenance daily/monthly PPC spends for multiple clients and ensure the campaigns meet the desired performance metrics
- Review/provide analysis on PPC landing pages
- Serve as liaison between clients, Web Ad.vantage staff and PPC search engine agency representative and manage agency budget/credit allocations within engines
- Review, update and maintain Web Ad.vantage’s PPC, SEO & SMO processes and process documents
- Read/Review/Research latest information, techniques, technology and news regarding the PPC, SEO & SMO industries
- Investigate/Research/Assess new vendors, technologies, etc. that may assist in the facilitation of client projects
- Troubleshoot new challenges to existing clients wrt PPC performance and assist with SEO troubleshooting
- Supervise PPC, SEO, SMO and media staff with open communication and follow-up to ensure they understand deliverables and timelines to keep jobs on track, assisting senior management with input on staff performance as it relates to semi-annual goals, client satisfaction and overall success of Web Ad.vantage
- Train new and existing staff and/or other interested Web Ad.vantage staff members
- Participate in agency/business development strategy sessions
- Serve as member of Web Ad.vantage management team
- Attend and present at monthly management meetings, weekly staff meetings and project reviews
Required Skills
- Agency experience preferred
- Strong familiarity with the Internet/Internet marketing
- Background a must in at least one of the following disciplines: search, web strategy &/or online marketing/advertising
- Fluent knowledge of Google AdWords, Yahoo Sponsored Search and MSN and their respective contextual networks and all forms of campaign targeting
- Familiarity with second and third tier PPC search engines or aggregators for the purpose of expanding campaign inventory
- Familiarity with local search and local search engines
- Thorough knowledge of web analytics software, such as Google Analytics and KeywordMax
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Word & Excel
- PPC copywriting & copy editing skills
- Must demonstrate a problem-solver mentality; ability to anticipate and think critically; always seeking to improve oneself or internal systems & processes
- Organizational – ability to handle multiple responsibilities at one time yet still get assignments completed in a timely basis
- Strong Follow-Up Skills – follow-up may entail contacting both staff and clients
- Strong Interpersonal Skills
- Strong writing skills, interpersonal and communication skills required
- Strong leadership/supervisory skills
- Ability to set and achieve goals
- Skill in conveying ownership of assigned projects to junior team members
- Can turn ideas into workable plans
