New Business Development Manager
Job Description:
The New Business Development Manager is an intelligent, results-driven individual, capable of cultivating and closing his/her own qualified leads. This person is responsible for selling Web Ad.vantage’s online marketing and advertising services to mid-size and Fortune 1000+ companies ($5M in annual sales and up) located either locally — in the Baltimore/Washington/Philadelphia region — or nationally. Our core services include search engine optimization, paid search, online media planning/buying, social media and Internet marketing consulting. Most qualified leads take 60-90 days to close once secured and service agreements exceed $10K per. Some travel and evening networking required.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Selling process includes
- Generating your own qualified leads through direct sales efforts and networking
- responding to incoming leads generated through Web Ad.vantage’s marketing efforts
- pre-qualifying prospects
- pre-determining prospects needs and Web Ad.vantage’s potential role in fulfilling those leads
- communicating such needs to Web Ad.vantage principals; involving principals in pricing, proposal writing &/or pitch when necessary
- writing of detailed proposals
- following through on prospects with the goal of closing the sale
- closing the sale (with or without the involvement of Web Ad.vantage principals)
- writing service agreements
- Meeting/exceeding assigned sales quotas
- Proposal development and presentation to clients
- Expanding and maintaining new business prospect and strategic partner database
- Participation in Web Ad.vantage new business cultivation activities (e.g. trade shows, seminars, conferences, etc.)
Required Skills & Personal Traits:
A strong background in sales with a proven track record of meeting/exceeding sales quotas is a must. Familiarity with the Internet, preferably in the field of Internet marketing, is a plus. It is preferable, but not required that the New Business Development Manager be an on-site position in Havre de Grace, Maryland. This is your opportunity to sell for a proven industry leader, earn generous commissions and work in a friendly atmosphere.
- Proven sales track record that includes the ability to write well-crafted proposals
- Familiarity with the Internet/Internet marketing
- Strong network of contacts at executive level (CEO, President, V.P. New Business Development/Ecommerce/Sales & Marketing)
- Current relationships in hi-tech, home improvement, travel/tourism, ecommerce/online retailing, real estate development, commercial/industrial manufacturing and/or higher education industries a plus
- Agency, consulting or service-based experience a plus
- Must demonstrate a problem-solver mentality; ability to anticipate and think critically; always seeking to improve oneself or internal systems & processes
- Resilient, persistent personality with strong closing skills
- Willingness and ability to work on long-term sales on commission basis with lucrative pay-outs
- Ability to set and achieve goals, working independently but knowing when to solicit help
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ambition combined with patience
- Travel is minimal
